New shoes and backpacks…no when I was a kid it was that new pencil box from Woolworth’s. No seroiusly though: School choice, getting immunization and birth records for the school…meeting the teachers. Just to name a few. My son also has been working on writing his name and he can name the letters in the Alphabet…loves Dr.Seuss anything and —this the bragging area right?
I just hope that he is able to make friends and get along. I also hope he is ready to learn in structured classrooms because I know he has a hard time sitting still. Anybody else concerned about this?
Well, I have to remind myself that she doesn’t have to know everything the first day. I am a little “task-oriented”, so I have to be reminded that everything kids do prepares them in some way for school. But in my mind, and based on what the school district has said, we’ll be working on making sure she can write all her letters and be able to write her name. I’m not too obsessed, though, she’ll learn what she needs when she gets more into it.
When I hear “school readiness” I think the child should be……ready to learn new things, able to get along with other students, able to handle a more structured environment, knowledgeable of the basic fundamentals of education like alphabets, colors, numbers, more developed social skills etc.
i was beginning to believe that i might probably end up being the only guy whom cared about this, at the very least at present i discover i’m not insane i will be sure to have a look at various several other posts after i get some caffeine in me, it really is rough to read without my coffee, I was up late last night grinding facebook poker and after having a few brewskies i ended up melting away all my zynga poker chips take care
